What is it? Cold weather camping on a frozen lake with lots of fun wintertime activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, dog sledding, building snow shelters Warm weather canoeing and portaging through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of northern Minnesota Sailing, fishing, camping, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and other ocean related sporting adventures from the Florida high adventure base A variety of West Virginia adventures including The River (kayaking & rafting), The Marksman (shooting, archery), Tires & Trails (mountain biking), Berms & Bars (BMX), Ramps & Rails (skate- boarding), Kayaking, Climbing, and Adventure Photography 12-day backpacking trek ranging in length from 50 to 100 miles, with program choices such as rock climbing, scenic side trips, burro packing, gold panning, and many others
Cost? Estimated total cost is $550.  This includes travel, food, and on-site activities. Depends on program and travel plans. $700 plus air fare Ranges from $800 to $1200, plus travel.  Some weekend programs are less expensive. Estimated total cost (not including possible gear purchases) is $1400.  This includes travel, food, and on-site activities.
Training & prep? Crew meeting to plan travel logistics and group preferences; training takes place at Northern Tier Crew practice with paddling and portaging techniques; crew gear planning All participants must pass BSA Swim Test; additional preparation is needed for SCUBA programs. Depends on program selected. Extensive fitness work, group planning, multiple shakedowns to practice hiking and cooking as a group and to test personal and crew gear
Special gear?
